Have maytag neptune washer, always shuts down at start of all three rinse cycles. what's up?

It could be a bad inlet valve and when the machine is calling for a cold water rinse the valve is not opening to fill the machine. The machine will just sit there until enough water fills the drum and if it is not filing nothing happens.

Try a warm water rinse and see if the hot water fills the machine.Have maytag neptune washer, always shuts down at start of all three rinse cycles. what's up?
Ours was doing the same thing. We had the repairman come out (thankfully it was still under warranty) and he tightend up a bracket that holds a switch that tells the washer that the door is closed. We have had no trouble since that was repaired.Have maytag neptune washer, always shuts down at start of all three rinse cycles. what's up?
get rid of it I've had one for years and I had nothing but problems. It stinks. There was a horrible odor because it does not rinse porperly. Also I always had problems with the panel. Insist that they fix it. I had them here at least once a month. I finally gave up and fought them legally and got no response.

  1. The cause of a Neptune front loader shutdown in the rinse cycles is usually debris in the water inlet screens.

You will have to shutoff water supply valves. Next, remove hoses on machine side and look up into the water inlets. You will need needle nose or tweezers to pull out the buildup.

The Neptune shuts off because it took too long to fill and it shutsdown to prevent over filling your machine. Jeff http://www.neptunehelp.com
