Once you get the agitator out of a Kemore washer, how do you get the part off that holds the drum in?

And will it take a special tool?Once you get the agitator out of a Kemore washer, how do you get the part off that holds the drum in?
I would ask why you would want to do that? As in if you have to ask....

They do have a special tool to remove the spanner nut off the drive block that holds down the basket. It is called a spanner wrench.

I have used a hammer and a small metal rod or hugely large screwdriver to drive off the nuts. But on real old ones that have never been off, I have had to cut or chisel them off and replace the nut and drive block. And sometimes that damages the basket.

I say good luck but get nervous giving advice when I don't know what you are trying to do or even the model age and type of washer. Kenmore doesn't tell me much.Once you get the agitator out of a Kemore washer, how do you get the part off that holds the drum in?
High explosives and a new washer. Do not try this in home.

Call any Sears store and their appliance dept can tell you exactly, go to their tech website, call any appliance repair shop, or do as instructed above.

Making repairs to older appliances is a waste of time and money. If you don't have one of their in home warranties forget it. Get a local reliable repairman or try the explosive or sledge hammer approach. They all accomplish the same results.
