I had a similar problem this week. Was sold the wrong parts. Took the old pump apart for sh its and giggles. A damn finishing nail was jammed in it. Put it back together and it works fine.I have a front-loading Maytag washer and the tub fills w/water but doesn't drain. Any suggestions?
call Maytag repair man....hes probably not busy
Dennis is most likely correct. Just remove the hose from the pump inlet and see if there is something inside and clean it out.
Maytags front loaders are complicated. The possibilities are endless. It's not DIY project.
Possible problems: bad wax motor on the door lock, bad control board, blocked or bad pump(rear access for the electric pump). On some models a bad wax motor burned out the control board. I'm sorry, repair instructions are too detailed to give you. You need to call for service.
I have had 4 front loaders. They are very simple designs, the pump is suseptable to jam with nicles, domes, and pennies. pump cover comes off to clean out usually located below tub in front of washer.
