We want to remodel our kitchen and the problem is that the washer and dryer are in it behind closet doors.....

we have a house that has the washer and dryer off to the side in the kitchen behind bifold doors. I would like to take down the faux closet and doors and utilize that space more without the washer and dryer sticking out. I have seen that one way to do this is to have front end loaders and build a cabinet/ countertop around them so it blends in with the rest of the coutertops in the kitchen. Any other alternative ideas? ThanksWe want to remodel our kitchen and the problem is that the washer and dryer are in it behind closet doors.....
That is one way to do it. What we did was to place our washer and dryer in the bathroom. My mother did the same thing with her bathroom, actually removing the bath tub to put the washer and dryer in that area. She has another full bath and didn't need the extra tub. I, however, had a big enough area to have both the washer and dryer in there, plus have the full bath. People think I am crazy, but since we wash and change our clothes in the bathroom, it is very handy to throw clothes directly in the washing machine. You could do so much more with this space rather than have a washer %26amp; dryer taking it up. If you have a utility closet in the hall or something, you can get an over-n-under washer and dryer and place it in there too.
